Mexican Americans have served their country with honor and pride in the U.S. armed forces for more than 150 years. Military service and honor are a strong tradition in Mexican American families and communities. It is not unusual to find military service spanning several generations within families, multiple family members serving in the armed forces, or good friends enlisting together.
The Dallas Mexican American Historical League proudly shares the story of our grandparents, parents, sons and daughters, and grandsons and granddaughters who we sent off to serve our country, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice in our nation’s wars.
