The theatre of Dallas owes much to those who gave of themselves so that our city can experience the wonder of the theatre. Those such as: Mrs. Pearl Wallace Chapell, elocutionist, whom was the driving force behind Shakespeare in the Park. Mrs. Ermance Rejebian for her devotion to the great book clubs of Dallas, Margo Jones for making Dallas a ‘theatre’ city. Neil Fletcher, who not only invented the corny dog, but also had the first theatre of Dallas inside a tent; and Hyman Sharninsky for the band for the Starlight Operettas.
