Dallas Historical Society Internships
The DHS Internships are 12 weeks in length, 8 hours per week for a total internship experience of approx. 100 hours. Each Spring/Summer the DHS takes up to 3 interns in the collections/archives department. Positions available: Offered every spring and summer. Dates vary.
Collections Interns
The Dallas Historical Society seeks individuals who wish to gain practical experience in a professional archival and museum setting. Projects may include organizing and describing archival materials, assisting with the preservation of collection items, working on a larger collection with a staff member, or assisting with overall collections management and care.
Requirements
- Internships are open to both graduate and undergraduate students.
- Preferred major in a related field (History, Museum Studies, Library Science or other related field)
- Preferred completion of at least twelve (12) hours of university course work in a major or minor in related field
Deadlines
Applications for Spring term must be received by December 1. Applications for Summer term must be received by April 1.
