Santa Laughed All the Way to Dallas

Presenter: Rose-Mary Rumbley, Author and Historian

During the holiday season we find ourselves waiting in anticipation of visits from family and friends, planning those gatherings and looking forward to that special morning when children (and some adults) squeal with delight. But now we are going to hear Rose-Mary Rumbley’s version of Christmas past, telling us of the places in Dallas that celebrated in a special way. Of course, Jolly old St. Nick was in Dallas in the 1840’s, but in the 1940’s, according to Rose-Mary, he was laughing so hard that he caused all sorts of traffic jams and hysteria in the city. He was present every year, because Santa really loved Dallas, but the history behind some of his past visits is truly worth special notice. And who could tell it better?
