Another special thanks to one of our past interns Aaron Ahlstrom. Aaron completed several projects for us, first he digitized our collection of maps and drawings of the 1936 Centennial Exposition and then started a VR project showing what Fair Parked looked like at that time. He really went the extra mile for us with his projects and we are very thankful for all his hard work! Good luck on your travels abroad sir,

Post 1: Valme

The Dallas Historical Society would like to recognize one of our special volunteers for her outstanding service. Valme Alvarez Valera has volunteered with DHS for over a year and a half and acquired over 700 volunteer hours during her time with us. She worked alongside the collections staff on numerous projects which included activities such as creating finding aids, processing collections, historical research, volunteering training, and entering collections into Past Perfect. Valme has decided to focus full time on training for her teachers’ certificate and is currently working on becoming a teacher in the Dallas area for the fall. Although it will be sad to see her go, we wish her all the best in this new chapter of her life! Thanks again Valme for all your hard work,
