Dear History Enthusiast:
Imagine what life was like years ago: no shopping malls, no television commercials, no telephones, no airplanes. Even no cars, if you go back far enough.
Today, the pace of life is definitely faster. In fact, it seems we move around so rapidly that we hardly ever have a moment to appreciate the people around us, or the city in which we live.
The Dallas Historical Society's members believe that it is important to remember when the pace of life was slower. We place a high value on preserving the past and sharing history with others. In so doing, we provide interesting educational programs for children and adults, historical lectures and exhibits about Dallas history. These exhibits draw from the more than 5 million items in the Historical Society's collections and are attended by more than 100,000 visitors a year.
We hope you will join us in our efforts to preserve and present for others the memories of earlier times by becoming member of the Historical Society.
Your support will ensure that not only the stories of the past, but also the news being made today, will be made available in the future for our children and grandchildren to study and enjoy.
Most importantly, we would like to have you as a member of the Historical Society, whatever your level of support. Please join us. For more information on becoming a member of the Dallas Historical Society or to pay by credit card please contact Nora Lenhart at (214) 421-4500 ext. 101 or
