Dallas History Items: Melrose Court Apts.

Melrose Court

The Melrose Court Apartments, at the corner of Oak Lawn and Cedar Springs, was built in 1924 at the site of Civil War veteran Colonel George Mellersh's land. The architect was C.D. Hill, who designed residences in Highland Park and Lakewood, the second Dallas Country Club, the Oak Lawn United Methodist Church, and the Fair Park Coliseum.

Celebrity guests have included Elizabeth Taylor, Martin Sheen, and Arthur Miller.

Today guests can still stay at this historic landmark.
