October 6, 1899 - E. H. R. Green brings the first gasoline-powered car to Dallas. His driver is Jesse Illingsworth.

The car is an 1899 model St. Louis, manufactured by George P. Dorris, who accompanied it by train down to Terrell and drove it into Dallas.
