Internship Opportunities

The Dallas Historical society offers the following UNPAID internship positions:

  • Collections Department Intern
    Intern will assist the collections department in various tasks including re-filing, indexing, assisting researchers, preparing articles for the Dallas Historical Society web page, and processing items acquired by the collections department.
    Positions available: One full-time, one part-time. Offered every spring, summer, and fall. Dates vary.

  • Educational Department Intern
    Intern will assist the Educational Director in various tasks, including editing tours and educational material to remain up-to-date with current curriculum requirements.
    Positions available: One. Offered every spring and fall. Dates vary.

  • Operations/Facilities Intern
    Intern will assist in Event Planning and Rentals in various tasks. Students interested in pursuing a career in the hospitality industry are especially encouraged to apply.
    Positions available: Two. Offered every spring, summer, and fall.

  • Development Department Intern
    Description: Intern will assist the Development Manager in various tasks including monthly member renewals, grant writing, and fund raising.
    Positions available: One. Offered every spring, summer and fall.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 2.75 GPA overall, minimum 3.25 in related field; successful completion of at least twelve (12) hours of university course work; major or minor in related field or six (6) hours course work in related subject.
